July 26 and 27 ...Thursday and Friday

After partying the night before the kids slept in late on Thursday morning.  Alex slept until 11am!  He was disappointed when he woke up, saying he was shooting for noon.  By that time I had already gone for a run and a swim and helped a friend take out her dock with one of the other neighbors.
The day stayed mostly cloudy and cooler so we did lots of inside things.  Played games, read books, built things, etc.
I read "The Lightening Thief" by Rick Riordan.  Alex wanted to read it and I usually preview the bigger chapter books before he reads them.  It was really good, I'm excited for him to read it but excited myself to read the rest of the series.
At dinner time we said good bye to some of our friends who had to go home.
Later we watched "Enchanted".  The kids liked parts of it but said other parts were "boring".  I don't think either of them is really into the whole love story plot idea yet (thank goodness!).
Friday morning they got up a little earlier but still pretty good summer sleeping in.  We drove with mom up to Land O Lakes to bring some of her things to the gallery and then stop at some other stops along the Northwoods Art Tour.
On the way back we took a different county highway than we normally take to go anywhere and drove past a sign that said  "AquaLand".  Now Ben has been talking for years about this place they went when he was a kid, near Minocqua called Aqualand.  I have been coming up to this area all my life and had never heard anyone talk about Aqualand so I always kind of blew him off.  Well, lo and behold, there it was....AquaLand.  AND it turns out my mom remembers it too and had gone there when she was in high school.
We ate lunch in town at the Thirsty Whale and ran into an old friend there.  It was so nice to see her and catch up on things.
The afternoon and evening was spent swimming, playing outside, riding scooters and exploring.
