We went exploring this morning. We've got a patch of wild strawberries we are keeping our eye on. Alex likes finding the patches of lichen that the deer dig up. We tracked some pretty little butterflies.

Maya had her first dance recital last Saturday morning. I won't expound on my irritation regarding the policy of no pictures or video taping allowed of my THREE year old's recital.....but that policy is why we only have these few pictures to share before the recital.

This morning he asked Ben to put the pedals back on. Then he came in the house and told me I better come out and watch because he was going to ride his 2-wheeler. He got on, pushed off once and took off riding down the driveway. So I guess he was right!

I am so excited about our Trilliums! When we moved in there were Trilliums in the surrounding woods but none in our yard. A few years ago one popped up. Then the next year a few more. Last year we had about 16! This year there is over 20 already and they aren't all up yet.
Alex is sporting a faux-hawk for wacky hair day at school today. He gave us a 10 minute dissertation at dinner last night outlining the details of the difference between a MOhawk and a FAUX-hawk. We will have to hose him down in the shower tonight to get rid of the 3 lbs. of grape scented hair wax that is holding that up but as you can tell he was thrilled with the results.

These are cotton and kid size. I used the Riblet socks pattern from Ravelry.
