Maya can roll from her tummy to her back.
She is very close to sitting up by herself.
She is getting her bottom two front teeth.
She is a silly, silly girl.
Her reflux seems to be getting better, we actually reduced her dose of Zantac.
Alex can pretty much dress himself.
He likes picking out his clothes and getting himself ready in the morning.
He can spell and recognize a few words.
He can pee standing up and thinks it's the coolest thing ever.
He is a crazy kid.

Our unexpected trip

Later in the week after our rough weekend, Paul invited Ben to the Packer playoff game in Green Bay the coming saturday. We talked about all the options of Ben trying to drive quick and come back right away or go for the whole weekend. Either way I wasn't really ready to be home alone w/ the kids after that last weekend. So we decided to all pack up and go and Alex, Maya and I would stay for the week and my mom could bring us home the next weekend.
Ben had an awesome time at the game (the snowy one that they won). We had a really fun week visiting. We got to see some people that we didn't have time to catch up with over the holidays and also just relax and play.
What's been happening........
Well, as usual I am behind. After Christmas we got home, got settled and Alex promptly got a really nasty cold. With a cough that hung on for over 2 weeks and was keeping him up at night. Then Maya got the cold too despite our best attempts at hand washing, Alex just loves his baby sister too much :) We had one really, really bad weekend with Alex a wreck up coughing all night and the mucous made Maya extremely gassy. Like I have never heard burps like this come out of a body that size. And it aggrevated her reflux and she was projectile vomitting and then coughing and gasping...not good.
At the same time we had some other things going on with Alex that have been ongoing and we finally had to break down and schedule him an x-ray test for that next monday. So sunday in the midst of all the other sickness we had to start a clear liquid diet prep for his test and then some other prep that night to clean out his system.
By that sunday night it was just overwhelming, Alex was a mess and Maya had gotten worse so I had to take her to urgent care for the cough. Her lungs were clear and they had no advice as to what to do for the gas.
The next morning (the 7th) Alex had his test and did amazing. There is a good possibility that he has a rectal polyp. We have an appt with a pediatric gastroenterologist on Feb 21st to find out what exactely that means and what the next step is.
Maya was really sick that weekend but then bounced back really fast that next week.
We are so glad to have that all done and over with!
