We got back to the cabin for lunch and then had a little rest time. Then early afternoon my aunt Terri brought her two grandsons over to swim again. The kids all had such a great time swimming together. Later on my cousin and her husband stopped by too. We usually don't get a chance to visit with them much except at the big Christmas get together so it was a lot of fun to hang out with them in the summer and in a smaller group.
They all went home before dinner. We had dinner and a little down time again before we walked down the hill for another game/cards/movie night with all the neighbors. The kids stayed outside for a while and had a campfire with marshmallows while we started the games.
Sunday - run and then swim. Breakfast and then a low key morning with playing and drawing. Lunch and then down to the lake for the afternoon! Swim and swim and swim....
Later in the afternoon mom and dad left for Rhinelander for my aunt's retirement party. The kids and I swam a little longer then went up to the house to get some things together and go to my Grandma Ruth's house for the evening.
We ordered a pizza to pick up in Rhinelander (sort of on our way), stopped for night crawlers and then ate at Grandma Ruth's and waited for everyone else to get home from the party. We started a campfire and got out all our fishing stuff.
Alex went fishing first. He caught quite a few nice blue gills and sunfish. After the first few he told me I could stop taking pictures of each one.
Maya caught a decent little blue gill on her first try. This is a picture of said blue gill flopping on the dock after she dropped her pole and the fish and burst into tears and declared herself "DONE FISHING!". I guess the idea of fishing was fun but actually catching a live, floppy fish was not her idea of fun at all.
As you can see, she recovered quickly (with the help of lemonade and marshmallows).
