Thursday was very cool, 50's-60's, after our few days of 90's we were thinking it was a welcome relief! We decided to take Alex to Peck's Wildwood wildlife park. I remember going there when I was close to his age. Back then it was just a fenced in field with a bunch of deer in it that you could feed and pet. Oh, and a black bear that drank orange soda.
It's quite a bit more sophisticated now, lots more animals to feed and pet and lots more to look at. Yes, they still have a bear that drinks soda.
We got there shortly after they opened and when you first walk in, you walk right into an open area full of goats, turtles, potbelly pigs and rabbits that you can feed/pet. Having not been fed much yet, the goats were a little...um.....agressive. If you ask Alex about the wildlife park the first thing he will tell you is about the goats that tried to eat his shirt. He ended up having to be carried through most of that part on the way in.
He loved the birds, liked the deer better than the goats, and was NOT a big fan of the camel. The camel was rather disgruntled that day and was being very loud about it. I didn't realize camels could be that loud actually.

On the way out, the goats had been fed consistantly for a while and were mostly drowsy or sleeping. Alex enjoyed them a lot more that way!

On the way home we had to stop in town because I was a "bad mommy" and only brought one sweatshirt along for Alex. With nights and mornings in the 40's all week we were thinking we might want another option. So we are now officially tourists, we live in a different state and Alex owns a "Minocqua" sweatshirt.
