We left friday June 27th (only 2 days later than originally planned) since Maya was staying hydrated.
The kids and I got up early and left the house at 4:45am to get down to Luddington by 7am for our 8am departure on the S.S. Badger ferry.
I was told there would be luggage racks I could use to haul our stuff and extra staff if I needed help since we were not bringing a car and I would be alone with two small children and lots of stuff. That was a bit over-rated.
There was A luggage rack. Like for everyone on the boat. Parked up by the boat.
There were a lot of employees, but they were all parking cars (individuals just drive up to the ferry, then employees actually drive them onto the boat).
So 3 trips back and forth to the car later we were finally ready to get on.
Overall it was a good trip, calm weather. But you loose sight of land after about 30 minutes and don't see it again until about 30 minutes before you dock on the other side. I was thinking we'd see some cargo ships or something out there. Um, no. So after we couldn't see land anymore we had a snack and then explored the ship. And then we still had another 3 hours.
It got to be a long trip for sure.
