Halloween 2013

Alex used his school history fair costume for Halloween this year, he was a French Voyageur.  Maya wanted to wear her fancy dress (we're getting some serious mileage out of this $7 consignment shop find!) with her fairy wings.
We had friends over to trick or treat with us.

The day before Maya had been really tired out after school and fell asleep on a lawn chair on the back deck.  When she came in she had what I thought were some bug bites along her hair line.  The morning after Halloween she woke up with more spots on her face and abdomen and we realized they weren't bug bites, she actually had chicken pox!

So our next 7 days were pretty low key.  Towards the end, when she was feeling fine but just waiting for the spots to heal up we met a bunch of friends for a late fall hike near the nature center.

Almost exactly 21 days later Alex got his spots and we spent 7 days at home with him too.  He was all cleared up before the holidays though!
