Since Alex has never done well with loud noises we have always avoided the large scale fireworks displays over the 4th. A few years ago we fell into the tradition of having some other families over for a bonfire and more kid scale fireworks. It's so much fun to watch a pack of kids just run wild outside on a warm summer night. I think they played with everything, basketball, ladder ball, bocce, bikes. Then of course pop its and sparklers and marshmallows....By the time we got out the fireworks some of the neighbors were out to and we had quite the little display.
